It is about the Uruguayan Brigade of Solidarity and Volunteer Work “Carlitos Pereira”, comprised by students, workers and retirees, which had planned to participate in the 29th South American Brigade, convened by the Cuban Institute of Friendship with the Peoples (ICAP), between January 21 and February 4.
The coordinator rejects the “unconsulted” modification of the itinerary of the contingent, which was to fly to Havana this Sunday.
The statement takes note of the airline’s situation announced more than 15 days ago regarding the temporary suspension of some of its Boeing 737 MAX 9 aircraft, by order of the U.S. Federal Aviation Administration.
However, it criticizes that in that period of time Copa Airlines “had not foreseen a contingency plan that would guarantee the timely delivery of the services paid for by customers in Uruguay”.
