Vice President of Cuba held a meeting with a VP from Vietnam

Kampala, Jan 19 (Prensa Latina) The vice president of Cuba, Salvador Valdés, held a meeting today with his counterpart from Vietnam, Vo Thi Anh Xuan, to whom he confirmed his satisfaction with the excellent high-level political dialogue between the two nations.

During the meeting, held in the context of the 19th Summit of the Non-Aligned Movement, both parties shared their interest in promoting bilateral cooperation ties, Valdés stressed in his account on the X social network.

The Cuban minister recognized Vietnam’s role in the economic, commercial and investment spheres on the island, as reported in X by Foreign Minister Bruno Rodríguez.

The day before, the vice president was received by the Ugandan president, Yoweri K. Museveni, to whom he conveyed an affectionate greeting on behalf of the leader of the Cuban Revolution, Raúl Castro, and the president, Miguel Díaz-Canel.

He also congratulated the country for assuming the pro tempore presidency of the Non-Aligned Movement and the Group of 77 and China, and put the Cuban experience at his disposal.

Museveni, for his part, referred to the historical leader of the Cuban Revolution, Fidel Castro, and his endearing relationship with the people of Africa, where he left an indelible mark.

He highlighted that he was the architect of bringing Cuba’s hand of solidarity in health matters to the continent, to which Valdés assured that not even in the midst of the complex situation that his country is experiencing will they stop offering collaboration in this area.

Before the dialogue with the Ugandan president, the vice president of the Caribbean nation spoke with his counterpart Jessica Alupo, with whom he shared the interest in strengthening the existing ties of cooperation and collaboration.
