The Cuban Foreign Minister congratulated the Tanzanian on his recent appointment and highlighted the progress in political, economic and cooperation relations between the two countries, according to his account on the social network X.
Rodriguez also ratified Cuba’s will to increase these ties in various areas of interest.
The day before, the Cuban Minister also spoke with his Algerian counterpart Ahmed Attaf.
In the meeting, which he described as cordial, he reiterated his gratitude for the support and trust placed in Cuba in the exercise of the presidency of the Group of 77+China during 2023.
The Foreign Minister also accompanied Cuban Vice President Salvador Valdes during his talks with Ugandan President Yoweri K. Museveni, and in which they congratulated the president for the new responsibilities of his country, which will assume the presidencies of the G77 and the NAM for the first time.
Before the dialogue with the Ugandan president, the Cuban vice-president spoke with his counterpart Jessica Alupo, with whom he shared the interest in strengthening the existing cooperation links.
The two sides signed a Memorandum of Understanding on the Promotion of Compensated Trade, a document that includes topics such as food and biotechnology.
