Angola boosts diplomatic agenda at NAM Summit

Kampala, Jan 19 (Prensa Latina) Angola’s Foreign Minister Tete Antonio boosted on Friday his country's diplomatic agenda with several bilateral meetings during the 19th Summit of Heads of State and Government of the Non-Aligned Movement (NAM).

The FM met with the deputy prime minister and his counterpart in the Democratic Republic of Congo (DRC) Christophe Lutundula Apala.

Antonio further held talks with the head of Foreign Affairs and International Trade of Zimbabwe Frederick Shava; with the Minister of People’s Power for Foreign Affairs of Venezuela Yvan Eduardo Gil, and with his Azerbaijani counterpart, Jeyhun Aziz Oglu Bayramov.

On Friday, the Angolan FM spoke with the First Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Uzbekistan Bakhromjon Aliev, and with the Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Education, Youth and Sports of the Kingdom of Cambodia Naron Hangchuon.

Antonio traveled in the afternoon to Kinshasa, capital of the DRC, to join the Angolan delegation attending the opening of Felix Antoine Tshisekedi, who won December’s elections and will be sworn in tomorrow for a new five-year term.

President João Lourenço announced on Friday his participation in the ceremony, to which heads of State and Government, representatives of international organizations, former governors and personalities are invited.
