The official was gunned down by assassins on Wednesday in the north of the coastal city of Guayaquil as he was on his way to a hearing.
As long as the lives and security of judges and prosecutors are not guaranteed, organized crime and corruption will continue to dominate the rule of law, political analyst Mauro Andino warned through his social network X.
Andino considers that, no matter how hard the Armed Forces and the National Police try to do their job, impunity and terror will prevail among justice operators, he warned.
For his part, Magistrate Darwin Muñoz did not accept the condolences of Attorney General Diana Salazar on the assassination of his friend Suarez and in a video broadcast on social networks he questioned the security of those who try to do justice, he said.
They do not give us security in the fulfillment of our functions -he denounced- and as a sign of that today we are mourning the murder of another colleague, the lawyer lamented.
Local media reported that prosecutor Suarez had a decisive role in key cases, such as investigations for corruption in public hospitals involving Daniel Salcedo, arrested the day before in Panama.
