He evaluated the epidemiological situation and in general the entity’s efforts and said that every day there are about 32 thousand consultations of any type of disease, however, he said, on average, we are having three thousand respiratory care due to respiratory causes.

He emphasized that these attentions “are not outside the limits of the endemic corridor, which tell us when we are in an epidemic zone. Like influenza and other respiratory viruses, Covid-19 will be changing and that is why we will have new generations of biologicals or vaccines”.

The minister pointed out that the current government has modernized many health sectors and praised “the improvements in the logistics of care and in the adequate equipment” of medical centers for the treatment of various diseases.

We have had a year of progress,” he said, “where it has been possible to bring technology to the entire Health System, starting with its digitalization. The identification of diagnoses is more efficient with this system and also in providing treatment. Based on this, we need to guarantee 100% connectivity throughout the Health System and this has already been achieved,” he said.

Alabí noted that since El Salvador has the majority of its population vaccinated against Covid-19, the number of negative effects, lethalities or hospital admissions is lower compared to other countries.
