According to a note published on the Italian Foreign Ministry website, Tajani and Safadi agreed that the way to achieve peace between Israel and Palestine is a two-state solution, which offers a political perspective that guarantees security and stability in this region.
Tajani pointed out that after assuming the rotating presidency of the Group of Seven (G7) on January 1, 2024, his country is committed to “avoiding the risks of an escalation and intends to remain at the forefront to facilitate coordination between those nations that play an essential role globally.”
During the conversation held on Thursday, the two foreign ministers addressed the situation in Lebanon and the risk of escalation of the conflict, following the recent developments, the text stressed.
Other issues included the current situation in the Red Sea, where, according to Tajani, “the safety of navigation and, consequently, the exports of our companies are at risk,” and added, “we are working to find a solution at a European level.”
