The action started around 08:00 local time and is part of a series of rallies against an adjustment plan, an anti-protest protocol, a decree of necessity and urgency (DNU) and a package of laws sent by the president to Congress.

Among the groups represented were the FTV, the Association of State Workers, the Corriente Clasista y Combativa, the Movimiento Barrios de Pie, the Frente Barrial de la Central de Trabajadores, Los Canillitas and groups of retirees and pensioners.

In a statement, these entities expressed their disagreement with the measures of the country’s leadership, which “have a savage impact on families and on those who earn below the poverty line”.
