The president said this while the new ambassador of the South American nation in Manila, Gilberto Fonseca Guimarães de Moura, received his credentials in a ceremony at the Malacañan Palace (seat of government).
Marcos assured the Brazilian envoy of the Philippines’ commitment to the continued reciprocal support of the two countries within the principles of the United Nations and other multilateral spaces.
I wish you a pleasant and fulfilling stay here in our country and hope you will experience the warm hospitality of our people,” Marcos told the new Brazilian ambassador.
The President noted that Brazil has become one of the Philippines’ valued partners in terms of technical cooperation in agriculture, trade and investment, defense and environmental protection since the establishment of diplomatic relations between the two nations in 1946.
He also expressed support for Brazil to host the 30th Session of the Conference of the Parties (COP30) to the United Nations Framework Convention on Climate Change in 2025.
