Syrian media outlets reported that the attacks hit targets in regions near the border with Turkiye where groups are deployed operating under the umbrella of the self-styled Organization for the Liberation of the Levant, Tahrir al-Sham, formerly Al-Nousra Front, registered on the international terrorism list.
A headquarters of the extremists of the Turkeystan Islamic Party on Mount Al-Summaq and others in the vicinity of the city of Harem were also targeted by Iranian high-precision missiles, the sources reported.
Other missiles destroyed training camps, logistical support points and a medical unit used by the terrorists.
Sources consulted by Prensa Latina assured that terrorists from the Islamic State, Daesh in Arabic, have been training for years in the attacked region, before being sent to Afghanistan and the Iranian border using intelligence provided by the US for them to carry out attacks within Iran.
Two terrorist attacks occurred on January 3rd in the province of Kerman, in the southeast of Iran, causing 84 deaths and dozens of injuries. The Iranian authorities managed to arrest one of the terrorists responsible for the crime, whose name is Bazirov Buzrov, a Tajik national, affiliated with Daesh.
