The Cuban Foreign Ministry announced on the social network X that Cuban representatives took part with substantive proposals in the Political and Economic and Social Affairs Committees that have been in session since Monday.
Kampala, capital of Uganda, is hosting from this day representatives of more than 100 nations, who are already debating on the crucial challenges faced by the countries of the South and seeking consensus to face them in an appropriate manner, the Foreign Ministry said on the platform.
Ugandan Foreign Minister Jeje Odongo, in his opening speech, pointed out that multilateralism and solidarity are more necessary than ever to respond collectively to the challenges of the future.
The meeting is being held at the Speke Convention Center, south of Kampala, and the expert meetings precede the ministerial meetings scheduled for next Wednesday and Thursday.
The summit of heads of state and government of NAM will begin on Friday and will close on Saturday.
