Wang will visit Egypt, Tunisia, Togo, and Côte d’Ivoire starting on Saturday to January, 18 to follow up on what was agreed at the China-Africa Leaders’ Dialogue, prepare for the 2024 Forum on China-Africa Cooperation, and consolidate cooperation with these nations.
Foreign Ministry Spokeswoman Mao Ning recalled that President Xi Jinping put forward three proposals to promote industrialization, agricultural modernization, and talent development on the continent during the China-Africa Leaders’ Dialogue held in August 2023.
According to official statistics, China has remained Africa’s largest trading partner over the past decade. Bilateral trade increased 14.8 percent year-on-year in 2022.
Xi recently underlined the friendship, mutual trust, and common goals shared by Beijing and Cairo.
