Sudanese paramilitary leader says he is willing to cooperate with UN

Khartoum, Jan 12 (Prensa Latina) Mohamed Hamdan Dagalo, head of the so-called Rapid Support Forces (RSF), reportedly said he is willing to cooperate with the United Nations (UN) to alleviate the humanitarian crisis in the country.

According to what he published in his X account, Dagalo committed himself to UN Secretary-General António Guterres to work with Ramtane Lamamra, RSF’s new envoy for Sudan, to face the severe humanitarian crisis left by the war.

However, political observers recall this Friday that several UN institutions and non-governmental organizations (NGOs) have repeatedly denounced the numerous crimes and human rights violations committed against the Sudanese population by the RSF and by the Army during their clashes.

Regarding the cessation of hostilities, Dagalo agreed to launch a round of negotiations to address the causes of the conflict and rebuild the country.

The war in Sudan has completely devastated this African nation and generated one of the largest humanitarian crises in Africa, political analysts recall.
