According to a statement from the Foreign Ministry, “It was dismissed recent unfounded press versions and reaffirmed bonds of friendship and One China principle.”

“There is no doubt about the significance of commercial exchange between both countries, being China the second commercial partner for Argentina, the second destination of our exports and the first origin of imports,” Mondino assured.

The Foreign Ministry reported that Mondinao and Wang further addressed Argentina’s involvement in the Belt and Road Initiative.

On this issue, Mondino pointed out that “those financial cooperation mechanisms are of great use to Argentina as long as projects financed serve its national interest.”

Mondino and Wang agreed upon the relevance of strengthening a Comprehensive Strategic Partnership set 10 years ago as well as the pressing need to reactivate the different existing cooperation mechanisms.

Plus, both officials debated on different issues including UNSC´s reform process and coordination within the multilateral areas in which both nations have common positions.
