The Foreign Ministry of this South American nation revealed through its social network X that the representatives of countries in Ecuador expressed the support of the international community to the decisions adopted by the National Government in the face of the acts of violence perpetrated by terrorist groups.
For its part, the Executive reiterated to the ambassadors that they remain firm in the fight against those responsible for the violence, as well as the order to the Armed Forces and the National Police to use heavy weapons against the anti-socials and reestablish order in the streets.
The meeting with the diplomats took place at a time when several countries, such as Mexico, Uruguay or France, have asked their nationals not to arrive in Ecuador due to the wave of terror in the national territory.
The most recent episodes of violence have left more than 10 dead, among them, two policemen shot dead in the town of Nobol, in the province of Guayas.
The National Police reported on Wednesday that 70 people have been arrested for the terrorist attacks that have taken place in the last hours in the country.
According to a report from the institution, among those arrested were 17 inmates who had escaped from the penitentiaries. The document also detailed that the uniformed officers were able to control eight explosive devices, seized 15 Molotov cocktails, nine firearms and 308 cartridges.
Since Monday, violent events have been taking place in most of the country, including prison riots, car bombs, explosions, kidnapped policemen, murders, among other crimes that keep Ecuadorians tense.
