In addition to the aforementioned Presidents, more than 200 delegates are attending the meeting in Gandhinagar, including representatives from 34 countries and 16 international organizations.

The conference, whose motto is “Gateway to the Future”, will last until Friday. The program is focused on emerging sectors such as semiconductors, green hydrogen, electric mobility and space manufacturing. It will have more than 2,500 meetings and a series of seminars on topics of global relevance such as industry 4.0, technology and innovation and renewable energies, official sources said.

An India-UAE summit and a meeting of the Indian Prime Minister with CEOs of important world corporations at the global FinTech leadership forum are scheduled for Wednesday, in addition to other notable activities.

Modi held meetings with the invited Presidents on Tuesday regarding the possibilities of further expanding ties between India and its commercial allies.

The Indian dignitary reviewed areas of cooperation with the president of Mozambique, Filipe Nyusi, focusing on the drive for the latter’s development. Both examined possibilities in the areas of defence, counter-terrorism, energy, health, trade and investment, agriculture, water security, mining, capacity development and maritime cooperation.

Modi expressed his firm commitment to supporting Mozambique’s development priorities and suggested that the two countries should work to improve air connectivity to boost business, culture and people-to-people relations.

During his dialogue with president of Timor Leste José Ramos Horta, Modi offered assistance in the development of capacities and human resources, in the field of information and financial technologies, in the energy sector and in healthcare, including traditional medicine and the pharmaceutical industry. He also invited Horta to join the International Solar Alliance and the Coalition for Disaster Resilient Infrastructure.
