The decision constitutes an additional step in the ‘multiform aggression’ that is being carried out by US institutions against the Bolivarian Republic, stated a press release issued by the Minister of Communication and Information Freddy Ñañez.
The text underlined that the purpose is to plunder the people from the assets that belong to them, in ‘clear transgression’ of the norms that govern the peaceful coexistence between States.
This ruling of the Supreme Court of the North American country ‘confirms the serious damage’ caused to the interests and patrimony of the Venezuelan people by the criminal action of the organized crime group calling itself ‘National Assembly of 2015’.
It denounced that since 2019 ‘it has sought to usurp the institutions’ and the representation of the Bolivarian Republic abroad.
The note emphasized that with this action they prevented the legitimate authorities from exercising the necessary actions for the effective protection of Citgo within the US territory, ‘flagrantly violating the agreements signed in Barbados’.
The Bolivarian Government ratified that it will continue to adopt all ‘political, diplomatic and legal measures at its disposal’ to prevent the consummation of the definitive dispossession of the company, a subsidiary of the state-owned Petroleos de Venezuela.
