Venezuela positively assesses South Africa’s action against Israel

Caracas, Jan 9 (Prensa Latina) The Venezuela Government positively assessed South Africa's application against Israel before the International Court of Justice (ICJ) on December 29 for failing to comply with its obligations under the Convention on the Prevention and Punishment of the Crime of Genocide (CPPCG).

The Bolivarian Republic, as a country committed to peace diplomacy, “recognizes the firm and historic” step taken by South Africa in defense of the Palestinian people and international law, it stated.

The note expressed that this action should be accompanied by the entire international community, with an “urgent call” for respect for life and human dignity.

Recent United Nations reports state that more than 21,000 people, mostly children and women, have been killed since October 7, 2023, as a result of the inhumane Israeli attacks on Gaza.
