During a meeting, this Tuesday, in Gandhinagar, Gujarat, Modi and Horta pledged to strengthen bilateral ties and continue their excellent cooperation in the multilateral arena, a Ministry of Foreign Affairs report indicated.
The prime minister reaffirmed India’s commitment to building a vibrant relationship between the two governments.
He also offered to assist Timor-Leste in developing capacity and human resources, information technology (IT), finance, energy, and health, including traditional medicine and pharmaceuticals.
Horta, in turn, requested India’s cooperation in achieving its development priorities, particularly in healthcare and IT capacity development, and expressed strong support for New Delhi’s intentions to become a permanent member of the UN Security Council.
