At the meeting in Gandhinagar, on the sidelines of the 10th 2024 Vibrant Gujarat Global Summit, the two leaders held productive talks on the ways to promote bilateral relations, according to a statement from the Prime Minister’s office.
In this regard, they discussed the possibilities in the fields of defense, counterterrorism, energy, health, trade and investment, agriculture, water security, mining, capacity building and maritime cooperation.
Modi expressed his strong commitment to supporting Mozambique’s development priorities and suggested that the two countries could work to improve air connectivity to boost business, culture and people-to-people relations.
The Indian Prime Minister also expressed his heartfelt appreciation to the Mozambican head of State for his participation in the Voice of the Global South Summit, organized by India in January and November 2023. during the country’s presidency of the Group of 20 (G20).
Nyusi, in turn, conveyed words of appreciation to the Indian Prime Minister for the inclusion of the African Union (AU) in the G20 and India’s support for his country’s development projects and capacity building programs, as well as cooperation in the area of maritime security.
They also discussed issues related to cooperation in multilateral forums, including the United Nations, and agreed to stay in touch and keep up the pace of high-level political meetings between the two countries.
