“We´ve identified 20 vehicles that were unusually loading over half a million liters of fuel in the last three months. Six of the drivers have already been apprehended,” said Jiménez, while informing that six of these drivers were busted, two of them are in preventive imprisonment and four are under formal indictment for committing repetitive charges.
Jiménez specified the six vehicles were seized and it was proved that one had loaded more than 228,000 fuel liters in less than a quarter.
The ANH director announced the operations will continue and be intensified to stop fuel diversion, an illicit act that he described as a “cancer” because of the damage it causes to domestic economy.
Jiménez reminded there is a constitutional mandate, since President Luis Arce made clear that fuel supply is being guaranteed for national territory.
In this regard, he called on the population to report these irregular facts through a toll-free telephone line established to reinforce controls throughout the highland country.
