Putin’s nomination received 1.3 million signatures in support

Moscow, Jan 8 (Prensa Latina) The electoral headquarters of Russian presidential candidate Vladimir Putin received signatures of support from 13 other regions and now accumulates 1.3 million, the Central Electoral Commission (CCE) announced.

“We have the support of the regions of Bashkiria, Mari El, Mordovia, Tatarstan, Chuvashia and Udmurtia, as well as Kirov, Orenburg, Penza, Samara, Saratov, Ulyanovsk and Perm,” the co-president of the headquarters, Mariana Lisenk, reported.

She recalled that volunteers began to deliver the first signatures on December 30th and in general the collection will extend until the end of January.

According to the CCE, the elections are scheduled for March 15th to 17th.

President Putin is running for election as a self-proclaimed presidential candidate; according to the law, it takes at least 300 thousand signatures to be registered as candidate.
