The Palestinian Football Association (PFA) said on its website that the former player of the Al-Maghazi and Gaza Sports clubs was killed yesterday in a bombing by Israeli aircraft.
Since October 7, when the aggression against the enclave began, 88 Palestinian athletes have been killed in raids on the territory, including 67 soccer players, the PFA noted.
Added to that figure are 24 officers, administrators and technical staff from the sports world, the PFA added.
Among the dead are soccer coach Yahya Manhal, national team players Rashid Dabour and Ahmed Awad, referee Omar Al-Kilani, and fellow athletes Haitham Al-Arair and Mohammed Al-Ghazal.
Last month, the Association called on the International Olympic Committee and the International Football Federation to take a firm stance against Israeli crimes against athletes and their sector facilities in Gaza.
