Through a statement, it confirmed that several F-16 fighter jets carried out an action against three radical group safe refuges in the Diyala area of operations, thanks to information provided by the National Intelligence Agency and the supervision of the joint operations directorate.

The strikes caused direct damage to the terrorists’ strongholds and Iraqi forces will continue their operations with the aim of completely clearing Iraqi territory of Daesh, the statement said.

According to local reports, the attack is part of phase six of Operation Swords of Justice, announced by the Iraqi government in June with the aim of eradicating terrorist groups and securing the country’s borders.
