The Strategic Operational Commander, Domingo Hernández, informed on his X account, that the troops who located the drugs belong to the Los Roques Coastal Surveillance Station. The seized cargo weighed 27,760 kilograms.
He pointed out that the Bolivarian Republic is a “democratic state of law and justice”, in which the illegal trafficking of psychotropic and narcotic substances are been fought against on a daily basis.
Hernández underlined that “these are not Venezuelan customs, we neither sow nor consume” and we will not allow their implantation in our national territory.
He announced that the case has been transferred to the Public Prosecutor’s Office.
Los Roques Archipelago National Park is located about 160 kilometers north of Caracas and is a protected area with more than 300 islands and keys.
The FANB and the Citizen Security Organizations carried out 45 anti-drug operations on the border last year to guarantee peace and security in Venezuela.
