Haitian prime minister must leave power in February or lose position

Port-au-Prince, Jan 5 (Prensa Latina) The Prime Minister of Haiti, Ariel Henry, must hand over power in February and if he fails to do so, his position would lose legitimacy, said today the interim president of the Group of National Progressive Democrats, Edouard Wadner.

Except for the creation of the High Transition Council, the agreement of December 21, 2022 failed, as none of the points of the document called National Consensus for an Inclusive Transition and Transparent Elections were respected, Wadner stressed.

It was to lead to the formation of a new government, the establishment of a Provisional Electoral Council and the organization of the next elections.
