Diaz-Canel praises work of National Revolutionary Police

Captura-4
Havana, Jan 5 (Prensa Latina) Cuban President Miguel Diaz-Canel praised the work of the members of the National Revolutionary Police (PNR), which is celebrating its 65th anniversary on Friday.

On his X account, the head of State sent congratulations and hugs to the ‘heroes in blue,’ who do not rest in the fulfillment of the sacred duty of keeping public tranquility, an inalienable conquest of the Revolution.

Cuban leaders acknowledged on the same platform the work of the PNR in the daily fight against crime and in favor of public order.

The National Revolutionary Police was created to have an exemplary institution that would erase from the memory of Cubans the image of repression, abuses and corruption that characterized that corps during the dictatorship of Fulgencio Batista (1952-1958).

Today, its fundamental mission focuses on the preservation of public order, public tranquility and road safety.

The PNR performs several tasks, all with a high level of commitment and responsibility. Thus, it contributes to fighting crime and fires, safeguarding natural resources, caring for minors with negative behaviors, and the security and physical protection of the state facilities and institutions, among others.

Its ranks are filled with committed young men and women who are the protagonists of the most transcendental moments of the Cuban Revolution, including the Playa Girón (Bay of Pigs) invasion in April 1961.
