Chileans celebrate 65th anniversary of the Cuban Revolution

Chile-Aniversario-Revolucion
Santiago de Chile, Jan 5 (Prensa Latina) The Chilean Movement of Solidarity with Cuba celebrated the 65th anniversary of the Revolution, a process that continues as an example for the world in spite of the hostility and blockade of the United States.

During an event held in the capital neighborhood of San Joaquin, several speakers condemned the economic, commercial and financial blockade imposed by Washington against Cuba for more than six decades.

“Year after year, the blockade is condemned by almost all the countries of the world, with the sole exception of the United States and Israel, now joined by the abstention of the Ukrainian government,” Oscar Vargas, of the Revolutionary Left Movement, recalled.

Vargas recalled the support of the Cuban government and people to the Popular Unity and President Salvador Allende; as well as during the 17 years of Augusto Pinochet’s dictatorship when it welcomed many compatriots and educated Chileans and their children.

Meanwhile, José Valdivia, of the Manuel Rodríguez Patriotic Front, recalled that despite the blockade, Cuba is one of the most supportive countries in the world, respectful of human life and the ecosystem.
