Mexico denies it will dismantle National Search Commission

Mexico City, Jan 4 (Prensa Latina) The Mexican government denied that it will dismantle the National Search Commission (CNB) for missing persons, but on the contrary, it will be strengthened.

In an official communiqué from the Ministry of the Interior, it reiterated its unwavering commitment to provide more effective responses to families searching for their loved ones.

The note responds to recent statements made by several media about an alleged process of dismantling the CNB, and clarifies that it categorically denies such misinformation.

Regarding the alleged distorted arguments, it points out that the CNB informs that the personnel movements of its directors are due to the fact that the period of validity of the temporary contracts has ended and, currently, a review of the profiles to fill such positions is being carried out.

This process, which is carried out annually, aims to strengthen the institution, improve performance and focus efforts on the search for missing persons.

He adds that it is important to emphasize that the adjustments seek to ensure a more effective approach to the problem of disappearances in the country.
