International coalition blamed for attack in Iraq

Baghdad, Jan 4 (Prensa Latina) The spokesman for the commander in chief of the Iraqi Armed Forces, Yahya Rasoul, today blamed the U.S.-led international coalition for the attack against a security headquarters in Baghdad.

In a statement, he described as flagrant and atrocious the action against the sovereignty and security of the country, in an act that caused casualties and undermines the understandings between the Armed Forces and the foreign coalition.

In this regard, he indicated that an unmanned aerial vehicle carried out an unjustified act against an Iraqi security entity that operates within the authorities granted by the Commander in Chief of the military institution.

In this regard, he considered that the aggression represents a dangerous escalation and an attack against Iraq, which distances itself from the spirit and the text of the authorization and the mission for which the international coalition was present in the country.

This Thursday, press reports showed that a U.S. bombing of the headquarters of the Iraqi Popular Mobilization Forces killed the deputy commander of the Baghdad Belt operations in the resistance, Haj Mushtaq Talib Al-Saeedi.

Four missiles were launched, three of them at the same time and the fourth one targeted the car of commander Talib Al-Saeedi, the media said.

Along with the leader of the Al-Nujaba Movement, his assistant was killed and six other people were wounded.

The bombing coincided with preparations by Iraqi forces for celebrations commemorating the founding of the army.

At the same time, the bombing occurred at a time when Iraqi Resistance movements maintain their response against illegal U.S. bases both in Syria and in the country, in support of the Palestinian people in Gaza.
