From Liberators Avenue and Trinidad Street intersection, surrounded by the 26 de Julio School City (former Moncada Barracks), the former Provincial Hospital, a jeep and two trucks with 40 students and young people departed and received the greeting of the presidency.
During the ceremony, Colonel Alberto Vázquez García, Hero of Labor, expressed the significance of the event and in particular the mission that corresponded to him as driver of the jeep where Commander-in-Chief Fidel Castro Ruz was being transported to.
Aylin Alvarez, First Secretary of the National Committee of the Union of Young Communists (UJC), pointed out that the new generations are following the legacy of the historic leader of the Revolution and the footprint of the victorious caravan that from today tours nationwide as a symbol of continuity.
