Cuba to hold military ceremony on 65th anniversary of Revolution

Havana, Dec 31 (Prensa Latina) The traditional military ceremony to commemorate the 65th anniversary of the triumph of the Cuban Revolution on January 1, 1959, which changed national history, will take place at the San Carlos de la Cabaña fortress in Havana on Sunday.

According to a press release from the Ministry of the Revolutionary Armed Forces (MINFAR), there will be 21 gun salutes at 00:00 hours, local time.

As usual, Havana residents will be attend the ceremony to celebrate the new anniversary of the Revolution on January 1, 2024.

On the occasion, the gates of the San Carlos de la Cabaña fortress will open at 23:00 hours, local time, the publication pointed out.

On January 1, 1959, Cubans woke up to the news that dictator Fulgencio Batista and most of his closest collaborators had fled.

It was inevitable that the Rebel Army, led by Fidel Castro, would achieve the triumph of their national liberation movement.
