India and Russia sign new bilateral agreements

New Delhi, Dec 27 (Prensa Latina) India and Russia signed agreements to strengthen their ties as part of the tour of Subrahmanyan Jaishankar in the Russian Federation.

The agreements concern the areas of nuclear energy, medicines and other pharmaceutical substances, as well as medical devices, the Indian Minister of Foreign Affairs announced on social networks.

The agreements were subscribed after a meeting between Jaishakar and the Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Industry and Commerce, Denis Manturov. The Indian Foreign Minister himself described the arrangements as broad and productive for strengthening the bilateral strategic partnership.

During the meeting, important advances in commercial and financial fields, connectivity, energy, civil aviation and nuclear fields were analyzed.

Both sides appreciated the occasion to explore new opportunities and discussed alternatives to make cooperation more balanced and sustainable in different dimensions, the Indian minister wrote on X.

During the gathering, the cooperation program in the Russian Far East was brought to an end and new meetings of negotiators on the Free Trade Agreement between the Eurasian Economic Union and India were arranged.

Jaishankar assured that India and Russia will jointly organize connectivity events in land and sea corridors.
