According to a press release delivered to Prensa Latina, YPFB´s goal is to guarantee both public and private transportation in Christmas and New Year’s holidays.
“As of December 20, the assigned gasoline and diesel quotas were brought forward in order to guarantee their supply in holidays”, the YPFB’s Marketing Manager Isaac Riveros said.
In the first 15 days of December, eight million liters of diesel were delivered and in the second fortnight it rose to 8.7 million liters.
In relation to gasoline, 7.9 million liters were sent to gas stations during that period, a figure that has now increased to 8.6 million liters.
According to historical marketing behavior, fuel demand scaled up in the 4Q of 2023 due to year-end holidays, explained YPFB.
“All operational precautions have been taken before Christmas to guarantee gasoline and diesel delivery to gas stations (…)”, Riveros announced.
In a press conference with the Deputy Consumer Defense Minister Jorge Silva, Riveros insisted that YPFB’s imports comply with international conditions and specifications.
He pointed out that about 75% of fuel in the country is diesel and 35% of gasoline is imported.
“We have been able to show that the parameters and indicators are within international standards; therefore, we can claim that the fuels marketed in Bolivia are of good quality, especially when a large part of the fuels are imported”, said Silva.
