In November, the number of migrants arrested soared to 7,389 with irregular immigration status.
Actions taken by the U.S. Border Patrol (CBP), however, were far from the figure of 2022, when 85,152 Salvadorans were detained and prosecuted for their irregular status.
The newspaper also indicated that the toll of arrests in past November was only 1.9% more than the number of apprehensions in October, and 2% less than the number of apprehensions in September.
The trend of more than 6,000 Salvadorans apprehended per month has been kept during the last four months, according to the report.
Salvadoran migration scaled down by 36% during the last two fiscal years, even though many are waiting in Mexico for an opportunity to enter the United States.
