Havana, Dec 22 (Prensa Latina) The 2nd Ordinary Session of the Cuban National People's Power Assembly (Parliament) in its 10th Legislature will conclude on Friday with the presentation of three bills, including the Public Health bill, which was already approved.

According to the program, over 400 Cuban lawmakers will debate on the draft law on the Military Prosecutor’s Office and the System of Attention to People’s Complaints and Petitions.

They will also review the update of the legislative schedule for the coming year.

Amid a complex social context, the debates in commissions began on Monday and the sessions have been attended by the leader of the Revolution, Raul Castro, and President Miguel Diaz-Canel, the parliamentarians have assessed the country’s situation with a critical view.

On Thursday, the results of the implementation of the Family Code were highlighted, although it was recognized that there are still ways to enforce it.

Minister of Justice Oscar Silveira said that the implementation of this law, approved one year and three months ago, has gone through multiple challenges for the legal institutions to implement it.

The enforcement of the Criminal Procedure Law was also discussed in this 2nd Ordinary Session.

During the meeting, the leader of the Cuban Revolution, Raul Castro, acknowledged the work of the Ministry of Industries and especially the work of its head, Eloy Alvarez.

It was stated at the meeting that in recent years, Cuba’s economy and industry have been going through a complex scenario associated with the tightening of the blockade imposed by the United States on Cuba, the impact of the world crisis, the effects of the Covid-19 pandemic and the increase in the price of imported inputs, among other factors.
