This is the Punta Huete International Airport project, an air terminal that will have the capacity to serve up to 3.5 million passengers annually; and the Tres Esferas Project, for the storage of Liquefied Petroleum Gas (LPG).
During the ceremony, presidential advisor Laureano Ortega highlighted the active cooperation with large companies from the Asian giant within the framework of the second anniversary of the reestablishment of diplomatic relations.
According to Ortega, the airport initiative is a transformative project for Nicaragua, as it will position the country in Central America as the regional platform for the export and import of products, in addition to strengthening tourism.
“It will create thousands of jobs that will benefit Nicaraguans, it is a strategic project of the State to make quantitative and qualitative leaps towards development,” he stressed.
He added that the Three Spheres plan for LPG storage will strengthen Nicaragua’s energy capabilities, satisfy local demand and maintain product stability in the Central American nation.
“We are talking about mobilizing important resources for the country, more than 430 million dollars, it has its important characteristic because this is an agreement in the yuan currency, which is an important advantage for the country in the de-dollarization strategy,” explained the Minister of Finance and Public Credit, Iván Acosta.
The head of Transportation and Infrastructure, Óscar Mojica, highlighted the progress of relations in a strategy of shared benefits that has strengthened the links of cooperation, solidarity, coordinated work, cohesive with the main representatives of the Chinese company CAMC.
In this regard, Ortega pointed out that these are advances in record time, and described it as extraordinary, since there is high attention and priority from the institutions and both governments to carry out cooperation for the good of their people.
