“We continue the course on expanding military ties with China and India, and we include the Democratic People’s Republic of Korea, who update information frequently,” the senior military officer said at a briefing for foreign military attachés.

Gerasimov added that the anti-terrorist exercise of the Association of Southeast Asian Nations Defense Ministers’ Meeting (ADMM-Plus) was successfully carried out this year with the participation of more than 600 soldiers from 12 countries.

In addition, he emphasized that the presidency of the ADMM-Plus experts working group on humanitarian demining for the period until 2027 was enhanced with the inclusion of Laos.

According to the officer, in 2023, the Russian Armed Forces showed a high intensity of operational and combat training with foreign partners. “We participated in 17 international drills,” he added.

Among the most notable events are the Maritime Interaction joint naval exercise and the Interaction 2023 operational-strategic maneuvers with China, as well as military exercises in the format of the Collective Security Treaty Organization (CSTO) in Belarus and Kyrgyzstan.
