The development of new measures will not take long and they will be presented to the EU member states very soon, clarified the politician quoted by the VTR television channel.
Estonian MEP Jana Toom indicated that the initiative to adopt new sanctions will probably come mainly from the Baltic countries.
However, she added that the instrument of sanctions is not infinite and there is a limit, which will come soon.
Recently, the EU adopted the twelfth package of sanctions against the Russian Federation.
The restrictions include a ban on the import of jewelry diamonds, liquefied propane, copper and aluminum wires, lithium batteries and components for unmanned aerial vehicles.
In response, Russia increased the list of EU representatives banned from entering its territory.
The list includes representatives of trade organizations, law enforcement agencies, citizens who provided military assistance to Kiev, as well as European individuals involved in prosecution of Russian officials.
