The arrest was made on Tuesday on the Santa Ana highway that leads to western Ahuachapan, and the detainees were identified as Jason Ariel Pineda and Bitia Eunice Barillas Quijada.
The couple was caught by police agents as they were selling drugs with 18 portions of marijuana ready to be distributed, the Attorney General’s Office (FGR) claimed.
In a subsequent raid on Pineda’s home, the agents seized three medium-sized portions of cocaine, the FGR granted.
Packets of marijuana, three medium-sized portions of cocaine and abundant pieces of evidence related to drug trafficking were found in the house, the Prosecutor’s Office posted on social media.
Those arrested will be prosecuted by the justice system with charges for the crime of illicit drug trafficking.
