Parliament President Esteban Lazo noted that since the 1st Session of the Assembly, in its 10th Legislature, 33 agreements have been adopted, 13 of which will be analyzed in the current parliamentary session.
Lazo noted that four are included in the legislative agenda for these days and correspond to the control exercises carried out by the Ministries of Agriculture and Industries and the governments of the provinces of Las Tunas (east) and Cienfuegos (center-south).
He added that during the presentation of the economy plan and the State Budget Law for 2024, the Ministry of Economy and Planning, and the Ministry of Finance and Prices, respectively, will report on the actions taken regarding these agreements.
Lazo explained that during this stage, the Parliament’s Permanent Commissions and the Bodies of the Central Administration of the State have worked on the implementation of the measures systematically.
He stressed that the Legislature body has exercised control over the planned actions, in particular by evaluating the impact of the agreements at the grassroots.
The parliament chief pointed out that a part of the agreements, those with the biggest impact on the population, related to economic issues, inflation, price control, transportation, do not achieve the expected results due to objective and subjective problems.
He noted that the Cuban Government will submit to this session new proposals to implement in 2024, based on the results of what has been carried out.
