The National Emergency System (SINAE) said that the rains postponed the return of displaced people in the departments of Artigas, Salto and Paysandú, where there were even new evacuations.

More than 100 millimeters fell in Paysandú in a few hours, causing some watercourses such as the Sacra and La Curtiembre streams to overflow.

Some 400 people were displaced by these floods, SINAE reported.
