This was informed by the director of the Mexican Social Security Institute (IMSS) Zoé Robledo -who is in charge of this plan- at the morning press conference held at the National Palace of President Andrés Manuel López Obrador, dedicated as every other Tuesday to the subject of health.
The expert said that the progress of the plan for the care of Mexicans without social security is remarkable, which includes the hiring of national and foreign general practitioners, specialists and nurses, mainly Cubans, and an increase in the 23 states of census beds with a perfect control of how many in each hospital and health center.
He recalled that the IMSS-Bienestar Plan began in January 2019 to settle the inherited debt of a great lack of specialist doctors, general practitioners and nurses, since it is of no use if there are no health personnel, as is happening now in the 23 states that have opted for federalization since the remaining nine, in the hands of the opposition, do not want to join.
