“I beg you to convey my warmest greetings to the leaders of your states, whom I hope to see very soon, at the end of December, at the meeting of the Supreme Eurasian Economic Council and at the traditional informal meeting of CIS’ leaders in San Petersburg,” Putin said.
He also reminded that on January 1st the Presidency of the association will pass to Russia, and there are plans to continue the development of joint events in a variety of areas of art, education and science.
“We will promote in every way possible the realization of film and television projects, and the organization of classical and popular music competitions,” he added.
He assured that during Russia’s term, Moscow will pay special attention to the issue of the preservation of the Russian language.
At the end of November, the Secretary General of the CIS, Sergei Lebedev, announced that the informal Summit would be held on December 26th in Saint Petersburg.
