The Ministry of Public Works and Transport (MOPT) and the Indian entity signed a letter of intent for this purpose, El Mundo reported.
This project aims to boost the Salvadoran economy and modernize the transportation infrastructure, one of the most critical aspects faced by the capital’s inhabitants, who as an average take about 87 minutes to get to work in a country where the number of vehicles exceeds 1.5 million.
Within this agreement, the Ministry of Public Works will be in charge of providing this feasibility analysis, designs, and laws, among other tools to implement the project.
Lakshmi Capital will provide technical support and ease the investment mechanisms, mainly for the construction, operation, management and maintenance of the San Salvador Metropolitan Area Mass Transit System (AMSS).
