Havana, Dec 17 (Prensa Latina) The Cuban film "The Wild Woman" was among the most winners of the Festival of New Latin American Cinema, which ends with today's screening of this film, by director Alan González, and other award-winning works.

This film, which competed in the First Feature section, will be screened at 5:30 p.m. local time on this last day of the film event at the capital’s Rampa cinema, in El Vedado, Havana.

The film is a completely Cuban production, co-written between its director and Nuri Duarte, and it tells the story of a mother who fights for the love of her son.

Starring Lola Amores, it marks the debut of the child Jean Marcos Fraga, and also features Grisell Monzón, Leandro Sen, Afrodreak, Yailín Coppola and Jorge Perrugorría.

Premiered last September at the Toronto International Film Festival, it won three awards at the 33rd edition of the Ceará Film Festival, held in Brazil from November 25 to December 1.

The film was also the winner of the second call for the Cuban Cinema Promotion Fund, produced by Cacha Films, a company founded and led by Claudia Calviño.

“The Wild Woman” was also crowned with several awards at the 44th edition of the International Festival of New Latin American Cinema in Havana, including the Special Jury Coral Prize, the Signis Prize and the Don Quixote Prize, from the International Federation of Cinema Clubs.

Its director, Alan González (1987), graduated from the University of the Arts with a degree in Audiovisual Communication and a screenwriting specialty from the International Film and TV School of San Antonio de los Baños.
