The news media condemned the death on Friday of its cameraman Samer Abudaqa by an Israeli attack on the city of Khan Yunis, in the south of the coastal enclave, where over two million Palestinians reside.

Many other reporter were injured, including Wael Dahdouh, the network’s Gaza bureau chief, whose family was slaughtered in an earlier raid, the source stressed.

Al Jazeera denounced in a statement that Israel’s Army is targeting Palestinian journalists and their families in the territory.

Meanwhile, Dahdouh, an Al Jazeera correspondent, recounted Israel’s attack that wounded him and killed Abudaqa.

From a hospital bed in the Nasser Hospital in Gaza, Dahdouh noted that the ambulance transporting him was unable to pick up Abudaqa for fear of further shelling.

“We got into the ambulance, I asked them to come back because Samer was still there and was screaming and calling for help (…) but the paramedics told me that we had to leave immediately and that they would send another vehicle so that we would not all be attacked.”
