The event’s Collateral Awards, granted by several associations and institutions of the Caribbean island, will be announced this Friday, at noon, at the “Hotel Nacional” in Havana.

As reported, the Chilean film Los Colonos, by Felipe Galvez, one of the favorites at the event, won the Glauber Rocha Award sponsored by Prensa Latina news agency and the foreign media accredited in the largest celebration of the seventh art in Cuba.

The jury also awarded a mention to the Cuban film Una noche con los Rolling Stones, by Patricia Ramos.

More than 2,000 films were submitted to the Havana festival, of which 199 were selected to participate in the competition for the top awards.
