The Rodong Sinmun newspaper recalled in an article that on December 8, the US State Department, without submitting it to Congress for deliberation, adopted a resolution on the immediate supply of some 14,000 tank shells to Israel to expand its military operation in the Gaza Strip.
During a vote on the resolution calling for an immediate ceasefire between the Palestinian Islamic Resistance Movement (Hamas) and Israel at a UN Security Council meeting held on the same day, only the United States used its veto, once again discouraging the international society’s efforts to stop the bloodshed in the Middle East, the article added.
Rodong Sinmun pointed out that almost all the real power in political, economic, and media circles, among other domains, is now in the hands of Israelis or pro-Israelis; the policy of favoring Israel is Washington’s natural demand.
The newspaper recalled that the Israeli army destroyed all medical equipment when it withdrew from the Al-Shifa Hospital, the largest medical complex in the Gaza Strip. It brutally shelled every single medical center operating in the northern part of the besieged coastal enclave.
