India calls for ensuring democratic access to AI technology

New Delhi, Dec 12 (Prensa Latina) Prime Minister Narendra Modi inaugurated the Global Partnership on Artificial Intelligence (GPAI) Summit on Tuesday with a call to ensure democratic access to technology and turn it into a multiplier for inclusiveness.

Addressing national and international delegates, Modi emphasized that inequality in reaching technology over the last century has further accentuated social differences.

The prime minister assured that the development of Artificial Intelligence (AI) will depend on human and democratic values.

He said it is up to us to keep space for emotions with efficiency, ethics, and effectiveness.

Modi also emphasized that for a system to be sustainable, to make it transformative, transparent, and reliable is significant. He suggested that making data transparent and free from bias is a good beginning.

He also called for the protection of data and guarantees for the Global South to develop AI.

The prime minister also toured the exhibition that is part of the initiatives of the three-day meeting, in which more than 300 delegates are participating.
